Welcome to the Jemez Art Retreat

LOCATION
The Jemez Mountains are located in north central New Mexico, at an elevation of 6300 feet. The retreat is approximately 2 ½ miles south of the quaint village of Jemez Springs (see http://www.jemezsprings.org). We are 75 minutes from the Albuquerque Airport, and 75 minutes from Sante Fe. The retreat has easy access off Highway 4 and is an easy 5 minute walk to the Jemez River. The house is on a quiet cul de sac, surrounded on all sides by mesa views.

AMENITIES
We have tried to maintain an oasis from the city and the hustle of everyday life. What we offer you instead is the peaceful quiet of the Jemez Valley, lots of  New Mexico sunshine, and a wonderful view of the night sky, whether it be a clear starry night or a full moon that makes the mesa glow.

ACCOMODATIONS
(The retreat is for practicing artists only, sorry no children or pets.)
We offer two nicely appointed rooms, each with one twin bed, a desk, and dresser. You may bring your own easel but we have one French easel and one table easel available. There is space for you to work in your room or you would certainly have many places, including the front or back yard, to paint en plein aire. We can advise on many lovely places to paint. Kitchen facilities are available.

FEES
Rooms rent for $70 per night, including tax, with a two night minimum. Senior discount (55 and up) is 10%.

CLASSES
If you are interested in classes the art studio offers classes in both 2D and 2D art. For week long guests, individual classes are available in drawing, painting (watercolors, oils, and acrylics), collage, pastels, and ceramics. Throughout the year, workshops are offered, including plein aire landscape painting.
